The Winter Warmth Collection

The Winter Warmth Collection all began with a commission in the Fall of 2020. The Globe and Mail reached out to commission a custom painting for a project promoting the beauty and warmth of an Alberta winter. This project had me reflect on how, even on the coldest days, the beauty and warmth of Alberta can shine through with a beautiful sunset and sparkling snow. I was lucky to be one of 9 artists selected for this project, which you can explore here at "The Art of Winter."

This was one of the first times I ventured into painting snow, and I challenged myself to bring the vibrant colours of a bold sunset into the surface of the snow, using very little pure white in order to capture the glow of a winter sunset.

After completing this commission, I was inspired to create a collection based on the theme of winter warmth, and created six pieces that explore the beauty of a Canadian winter. These range from scenes depicting untouched powder and snow covered trees in the mountains, to windswept prairies before the snow settles in for the winter. I am thrilled to share my Winter Warmth Collection with you and hope it transports you to a wonderful winter memory of your own.

The Winter Warmth Collection will be available February 11th, at 7 p.m. MST.
