The Reverie Collection

After almost a year of being quiet in my studio, I am proud to bring you the Reverie Collection. The last year has been one full of so many emotions and experiences and these paintings represent fresh optimism for the year to come.

The Reverie Collection 2022

We temporarily uprooted from our home in Calgary to follow work opportunities and landed in Merritt, then Kamloops BC at the height of the fire season and then the floods, with emergency kits stashed in the house and car for action at a moment’s notice.

We welcomed our beautiful, healthy bundle of joy into this world and within 2 weeks I wound back up in hospital with some scary complications. These complications coloured the next 4-5 months a blurry shade of grey as I recovered, with many unexpected bumps along the road.

I started painting again in the spring as I became strong enough to do the simple things I dreamed of doing as a new mom, like holding my baby and dancing with her to the radio in the kitchen. Such a little thing that I won’t ever take for granted.

This collection was created with Mother’s Day in mind, with 80% of each listed price being donated to the Children’s Cottage Society in Calgary to help families in need. Each painting is 8”x8”, the perfect size to include in a gallery wall, on a bookshelf or a quiet reading nook to bring some of the beauty of the Canadian Prairies into your home. As I spend more time in BC, the colours of the storms, fields and sunsets in Alberta tug at my heartstrings and this collection is an answer to the small amount of homesickness I’ve been feeling while away from Calgary.

I hope you enjoy my latest paintings! You can explore their bold colours here.
